Cape San Pablo is one the islands's biggest attractions. Located 80 kilometers south of Río Grande, this place is reknown for its long history of expeditions and shipwrecks. You can take a tour to the cape and go hiking, enjoy the views at the top of a cliff and take pictures of a famous shipwreck, the Desdemona.

To get to Cape San Pablo you must drive along National Route 3, take a gravel road, Route “A”, and then drive for about 40 kilometers until you reach the coastline. This road goes through a landscape of estancias (ranchs), native lenga forests, hills and plains. Besides cattle, you can ocasionally spot foxes, guanacos and condors. The Río Ladrillero runs through this area as a subterranean river,and flows into the sea.
The trail that leads to the Cape has a parking lot. Once at the top, you will find great panoramic views, benches and information panels. In this place there is also an old leaning lighthouse, built by the Argentine Navy, and in the coast, you can see the remains of the ship “Desdémona”, wrecked in 1985. These sights create an atmosphere of mystery, that makes Cabo San Pablo a must see place when you visit Tierra del Fuego.
